Richard Landry Is Genius…

November 17, 2006
Richard Landry is by far one of the best Architects in Los Angeles. Originally from Montréal, Canada, he has made a definite mark with his ‘breaking all rules’ approach to assisting his clients and brilliant presentation of his amazing visions. Richards’ unique approach to design and no fear attitude allows his clients to truly create their dream homes, that at the end, fit their lifestyle requirements; not the requirements or ego of the Architect is refreshing.

When I met Richard he was working on a gated community in Mount Tremblant Canada…I was so inspired by him personally, his support team and his way of making you feel that it is okay to want that wall of glass is a Traditional French Château. I know the importance of the home base and the energy that your soul absorbs from its surroundings, to have the elements that make you feel warm and fuzzy or inspires you to write that ‘best seller’ is an aspect of Landry’s design process that is extremely important and he isn’t afraid to allow his clients to give their input…he encourages it.

‘Modern to Classic’ published by ORO editions, is the title of Richards new table book…which by the way is one of the most gracious displays of some of the most stately, rich, bold and unique homes from all over the globe, designed by the Landry Group. On November 16th, Richard gave a lecture on his approach to design, shared newly photographed homes and on-the-board projects, he illustrated how certain rules of architecture can be bent, and even broken, to yield creative solutions to today’s lifestyles. After the lecture, which was held at the Pacific Design Center West LA, we were wined and dined in the Holly Hunt showroom for the book signing, the perfect backdrop.
